Richard Vidmer's Bio
Richard is a native son of Texas. Growing up in the
West Texas town of Marfa, his life's journey began. As a young man raised in a
cattle ranching community, he learned first hand the cowboy ways, calling it his
privileged childhood. Reflecting back on his life, he has many stories and fond
memories of west Texas.
As a young man, he developed a passion for music.
His mother was a wonderful pianist and singer who passed her talent down to her
son. Also his mother's native American ancestry is clearly visible in
Richard's demeanor. His music reflects his caring for Mother Earth and the
Richard's first guitar was purchased from Rohana's
Curio Shop in Ojinaga, Mexico, across the border from Presidio, Texas. His music
rings with a strong Spanish influence and the wildness of the Chihuahuan Desert.
His influences include: Johnny Cash, Led Zeppelin,
George Benson, Crosby Stills and Nash, Allman Brothers, B. W. Stevenson and many
Being a performing artist is a long, hard road and has
taken its toll on many a musician. Richard realized this in his early twenties
and chose the path of a carpenter/builder to seek his fortune. His success in
this field and in real estate investments has afforded him the opportunity to
pursue his life long passion as a singer/songwriter.
Richard, through his music, hopes to inspire young
people to care for our planet. He also praises our military for helping to
preserve our freedom and wonderful way of life!
