Richard Vidmer's Bio

Richard is a native son of Texas. Growing up in the West Texas town of Marfa, his life's journey began. As a young man raised in a cattle ranching community, he learned first hand the cowboy ways, calling it his privileged childhood. Reflecting back on his life, he has many stories and fond memories of west Texas.

As a young man, he developed a passion for music.  His mother was a wonderful pianist and singer who passed her talent down to her son.  Also his mother's native American ancestry is clearly visible in Richard's demeanor. His music reflects his caring for Mother Earth and the American Spirit.

Richard's first guitar was purchased from Rohana's Curio Shop in Ojinaga, Mexico, across the border from Presidio, Texas. His music rings with a strong Spanish influence and the wildness of the Chihuahuan Desert.

His influences include: Johnny Cash, Led Zeppelin, George Benson, Crosby Stills and Nash, Allman Brothers, B. W. Stevenson and many more.

Being a performing artist is a long, hard road and has taken its toll on many a musician. Richard realized this in his early twenties and chose the path of a carpenter/builder to seek his fortune. His success in this field and in real estate investments has afforded him the opportunity to pursue his life long passion as a singer/songwriter.

Richard, through his music, hopes to inspire young people to care for our planet. He also praises our military for helping to preserve our freedom and wonderful way of life!

MAY GOD BLESS AMERICA AND OUR TROOPS!
